MobaEurotubi finalize the acquisition of Tubicom

Indeed, with the Carrara family, founder of the company, an agreement was signed for the sale of Tubicom S.p.A, coreboard tube manufacturers since 1993 with a strong specialization in the tissue sector.
The acquisition involved an important partner, with consolidated experience in the production of recycled coreboard, Industria Cartaria Pieretti Spa of the Cartiera dell'Adda Group, based in Marlia (Lucca), who will be part of the new business project together with Moba Eurotubi.
The current joint venture of the two companies, Moba Eurotubi Srl and ICP Spa, will benefit from the synergistic use of specific experiences and know-how aimed at consolidating the Tubicom project. The development plan provides for the maintenance of the company's identity and territoriality: the factory at Via Mattei Z.I. of Mugnano in Lucca will remain operational within an industrial district of European significance.
Daniele Molteni, CEO of Moba Eurotubi, comments the transaction: "We are very proud to have concluded this important agreement. Through the acquisition of Tubicom, Moba Eurotubi will strengthen its presence on the Italian territory, now divided into three production sites: the first is located in northern Italy in Montorfano in the province of Como, the second in southern Italy in Sessano del Molise, in the province of Isernia, and now the third site in central Italy with the Tubicom company of Lucca."
Enthusiasm also shown by Roberto Molteni, new CEO of Tubicom, who adds: “For the next few months, organizational improvements have already been prepared and planned, aimed in particular at the technological and logistical modernization of the site, in order to make it perform at the same level as the Como and Isernia sites".
“We are very pleased - concludes Tiziano Pieretti, CEO of Industria Cartaria Pieretti - to be part of this entrepreneurial project for the expansion of our company. Our experience along with our know-how and deep tissue market understanding make ICP the perfect partner for developing a growth strategy in this field".
Thanks to this acquisition, Roberto and Daniele Molteni achieve the goal much desired by the father, Mr Rino Molteni, founder of Moba Eurotubi, who passed away last October.
With the acquisition of Tubicom, the three production sites will reach a consumption of over 65,000 tons of coreboard for tubes, a total workforce of about 160 employees and a covered area of about 30,000 square meters.
MOBA EUROTUBI SRL
Company specializing in the production of coreboard tubes since 1961. The tubes are manufactured by using regenerated / recovered coreboard in gray and kraft grades. In one year, the company uses around 55,000 tons of paper. The product range is mainly divided into standard reinforced and high-strength tubes (spiral / convolute tubes, rectangular / square section tubes, edge protectors, cardboard pallets) and special tubes (coreboard tubes with special covering papers, high thickness tubes, tubes with double-side adhesive, tubes with longitudinal cutting, etc.).
INDUSTRIA CARTARIA PIERETTI SPA
Industria Cartaria Pieretti (icP), founded in 1924, is based in Marlia within the Lucca paper district. It is specialized in the production of recycled paper, intended for the sectors of manufacturers of tissue paper rolls, spiral and convolute tubes, packaging and corrugated cardboard. In July 2018, Cartiera dell'Adda acquired 80% of the Lucca company, thus becoming one of the largest European gray cardboard producers, with two large factories, 300 thousand tons of produced cardboard per year, 120 million euros in turnover and 230 employees.
